In Canada, people and companies who provide investments to the public are regulated. I chose to work through (and not for) Investia Financial Services Inc. 24 years ago because they value and support an advisor's ability to offer independent financial advice.
Investia offers us a FLAT FEE platform where advisors pay a set monthly fee for back-office, compliance, trading infrastructure and oversight.
Investia has no stake in our business or income, and no command or influence over our client relationships other than compliance and implementing best business practices. There is no sales pressure, quotas or sales targets for the advisor, unlike what can happen in an arrangement where the investment advisor is part of a distribution channel for a bank, investment or insurance company. Without ties to any single line of products, GCFM is able to search the investment universe and offer completely unbiased advice.

Gary Cole Financial Management works with approx. 200 families, mostly in Southern Ontario, and administers the retirement savings of several Canadian citizens living abroad. As our business is 100% referral based – referrals have generated clients from Sarnia to Ottawa - Fort Erie to Pembroke.
We have no minimum deposit requirements and enjoy assisting young people starting out, as much as assisting with the administration of multimillion-dollar portfolios.
With well over $30 million in mutual fund assets under administration, not including other non-mutual fund securities, Insurance investment vehicles and Life Insurance products, GCFM provides the stability that you deserve while not being too large an operation to hamper dedicated personal attention.

Gary Cole Financial Management receives commission (depending on the institution, deposit amount and term), for selling the above products of numerous Insurance Companies, Banks, Trust Companies and/or Fund Companies.
