Governments fed “the Bull”
To rescue the economy from COVID-19, in March 2020 the U.S. Federal Reserve (the Fed) unleashed a flood of liquidity and slashed interest rates to effectively zero. The stock market rallied to record highs with the S&P 500 more than doubling off its pandemic low. The S&P and the Dow hit new highs on January 3, 2022.
